• Monkey MK is going crazy because the boy needs serious therapy at this point.
• DBK is standing right behind Monkey MK.
• DBK is supposed to stop the crazy simian because he is threatening to destroy literally EVERYTHING!
• Looks at Monkey MK with only one thing in mind: How to get baby monkeys to settle down.
• DBK closes his eyes while reaching out his claws to the back of MK and ‘pinches’.
• All the chaos stops abruptly because DBK manages to grab MK by the scruff of his neck.
• Monkey MK is lifted up by that scruff, by which he starts chirping and wrapping his tail undernesth him.
• It took a moment for Monkey MK to start acting cute and apologetic (big puppy dog eyes 🥺).
• Mei is taking videos and pictures because MK is just being a darn cutie right then. She posts all of the moment on her social media because she can’t resist oogling him when he’s being such a darn cutie.

Basically, MK got upset about something. He turned Monkey and started causing havoc. DBF had to jump in before the world got destroyed.

DBK was the only one who knew what to do, and he did it. If Monkey MK is going to act like a naughty baby monkey, he’s going to be treated like a naughty baby monkey and go into a time-out.

But seriously though I’m actually very impressed with how twst manages Malleus’ vastly different POV on basically everything. Instead of making him an omniscient, omnipotent god like those male leads in shoujo manga, they made his omnipotence his flaw. He is so powerful that it never crosses his mind to use anything else apart from his natural gifts. I’ve explained his mentality in greater detail here.

honest john represents dishonesty and temptation. playful land is an amusement park that doesn’t appear on maps or whatsoever, only appears once, and is ran by a fox and a cat. making it look like a once in a lifetime opportunity to let go of responsibilities and enjoy what’s there for FREE. the TEMPTATION is there.

judge frollo represents lust and pride. nobel bell college stands to represent as the pride of the festival in glorious masquerade. students there are proud of their teachings, culture, and tradition. rollo is lust itself — lust to attain the pride of bringing down mages no matter how powerful they are.

but, looking at the characters featured in these events, is clearly a correlation.

playful land has:

ace, kalim, ortho (main)

vil, leona, cater, trey, lilia, jack, jade, floyd

which are obviously characters that tend to fall into temptation (tendency to be blinded by it) and can be dishonest both to themselves and to others. even lilia, no matter how much you say he has changed, has been dishonest. cater, ace, vil, leona need not more explanation, trey not having the ability to be honest with himself and others, preferring to keep quiet at times. jack with his temptation to be stronger and just with his judgement. jade and floyd.

glorious masquerade has:

malleus, idia, azul (main)

jamil, ruggie, deuce, rook, riddle, epel, silver, sebek

obviously — malleus, idia, and azul lust for power and judgement. takes pride in their strength and knowledge. jamil and ruggie are self-explanatory, deuce with his craving to take pride in himself, rook with his lust for beauty, epel for his lust to be stronger, riddle with his pride in knowledge and magic, silver and sebek with their lust to be worth standing beside two of the most powerful people in twisted wonderland.

rollo is the student council president, the leader, the source of pride and glory. honest fellow is the caretaker of playful land, one who crafts the desires and temptations of the people… and look who they’ve attract.

Writer!Yuu: So much of paranormal romance is just a man being brooding, manipulative and a controlling asshole. And honestly, get therapy. Its spicy sure but I have the urge to rip his face off.

Otaku!Yuu: But that’s the point, he gets better at the end.

Writer!Yuu: If writer has to use abuse as a tool to either start or solve a problem in the narrative but then fails to address how the cycle of abuse works then it is not good. In reality the main character is just a victim of a man. Not empowered, not in love, not jUsT bEiNg PrTeCtEd! You can write compelling drama without resorting to making a character an unlikable asshole.
